ChatterBox firmware is a licensed product. You can freely install it onto any compatible device. After a trial period, you will need to purchase a license to continue using the firmware.
Resellers / Device Builders - If you build and sell hardware, you can purchase bundles of licenses that will allow you to ship licensed/pre-configured ChatterBox devices and clusters. Contact us!

A communicator license is good for the life of the device. Even if you factory reset the device, your previously purchased license can be reapplied to it at any time.
If you give or sell your device to someone else, the license transfers with the device. If that person factory resets the device, they are able to lookup the unlock key at any time, without providing any personal information to us or contacting us.
ChatterBox Node - No License Fee

At this time, there is no licensing fee for nodes. You may add as many nodes to your cluster as you want for no additional licensing fees.
It does not matter if you built the nodes yourself or purchased the node hardware from someone else.
Purchasing a ChatterBox Communicator License
When you purchase one or more licenses from us, you will receive a coupon code that allows you to apply licenses to any compatible communicator device, no matter where you obtained the device from. Licensing begins by scanning a QR code in the device you need to apply a license to. From there, you will be able to purchase a license, lookup an unlock key, or apply one of your available licenses to generate a new unlock key.
On your ChatterBox communicator, touch the ‘Buy’ button on the home screen.
Use your phone to scan the QR code that appears on your device, and follow the link to our licensing page.
If you have already purchased a license for this device, choose ‘Lookup’. If you need to purchase an additional license, choose ‘Buy’.
